Ladies that UX Manchester – August – Digital Picnic

1st year celebrations

9th August @Plotgardens

For our August meet up we did things a little bit different as it was our first birthday and since the weather was looking good we decided on a picnic!

The gathering was held @Plotgardens – a massive thank you to Laura from Magnetic North as she very kindly let us use their new digital garden in the heart of Manchester.

@Plotgardens is a great space for a any occasion with modern seating, WIFI, power sockets, a shed with a screen in that welcomed you and showed your twitter feed, a gazebo, (and most importantly mobile chargers disguised as a plant)!

We made a few sarnies and nibbles and everyone added to the picnic, which meant there was a real feast. The booze was flowing and thanks to Jules we had our very own homemade Pimms and Lemonade!

We had an amazing turnout with 35 free tickets being snapped up….Thank you so much to everyone that came along and made it such a great day.

As we were celebrating our 1st year of LadiesthatUX_MCR  we shared a birthday cake and Lizzie said a few words to thank everyone for making the meet ups what they are today – informal, insightful, fun and friendly.

Since last year we have grown, so much so that we will be relocating our monthly meet ups from Sugar Junction so that we can allow for our ladies to do short presentations on a relevant digital or UX topic that way we can all learn more.

Make sure you join us at the next event 17th September at the Whiskey Jar in the Northern Quarter. We will have exciting guest speakers’ details of which to be shared on Twitter shortly. Tickets out soon!

P.S look out for our new brand!
