Ladies That UX are pleased to announce that one of our co-founders Georgie Bottomley been officially recognised as a one of 2015’s ‘young women making waves in the digital space’ by being identified by The Drum one of the digital pioneers in this year’s 50 under 30.
We nominated Georgie as we appreciate how she has lead a revolution for women in digital. As you may know, Ladies That UX started in 2013, and created a relaxed atmosphere for female UXers and digital problem-solvers to come together to discuss their experiences, both positive and negative. So they could get the support and inspiration that they are looking for.
After starting in Manchester 2 years ago, we now have events held in over 40 cities, across several different continents worldwide.
Along with running Ladies That UX, Georgie has continue to progress in her UX career holding roles at Amaze, HouseTrip, AnalogFolk and currently at Atlassian. She puts a huge amount of time and effort into the organisation despite relocating from London to Australia to take up her next challenge at Atlassian, where we are sure they are so proud to have her on board!
As if working full time and running Ladies That UX wasn’t enough of a challenge, in the spring of 2015 Georgie also took it upon herself to plug the gap of women speakers at UX events and curate Talk UX in Manchester, the first UX conference with an all female line up – giving 20 different women the platform to spread their knowledge.
We really think Georgie is a real one to watch, her dedication in creating an environment for women in tech to excel is really admirable and her efforts have made a significant difference to woman across the globe. We are really pleased this has been recognised!
