Emilie Romero
Lead UX Design Researcher & Strategist, Chapter Co-Lead
Emilie Romero has 14+ years of experience working for government, corporate and non-profit clients specializing in UX/CX strategy, research and design, service design, and design thinking. She currently is a UX Design Researcher and CX Strategist for Microsoft’s Customer Experience and Success CX COE. She has extensive experience leading workshops, writing test plans and scripts, creating prototypes, interviewing participants, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and designing solutions to solve experience issues. She is a former Peace Corps volunteer and is currently an ADPList UX Mentor.

Rachel Max
Sr./Principal Product Designer, Chapter Co-Lead
Rachel Max is a multidisciplinary designer with over 15 years experience creating world-class products, applications, websites, and interactive experiences for Apple, Viacom, Houzz, and more. Rachel is an empathetic problem solver with an eye for detail who is curious about the world, what makes digital and physical experiences work, and how to make them more engaging. She loves many things – cute things 🦉 and round things 🍅 to name a couple – but especially loves being involved in the entire creative process, from research to delivering a well-thought through and polished product.

Mwika Kankwenda
UX Designer, Social Lead
Mwika Kankwenda has 2 years of experience crafting thoughtful websites and applications for small businesses, as well as companies in the fintech and government space. Prior to design, she was a marketing and communications professional for nonprofits and associations for 8 years.
With a deep understanding of the importance of connection and its impact in the world, Mwika strives to use her knowledge in research, user feedback, design strategy, digital marketing, writing, wireframing, and much more, to bridge the gap between people and the digital space and make it more human.

Fundraising, Networking, & Brainstorming Brunch
Saturday, February 18th from 11:30am – 2:30pm. The $40 per ticket cost includes all food and beverages. Leftover funds will be used to enhance a future event. Attendance is limited to 16 people so grab your ticket today!

Our First Annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Bash
We had a great time at the Dew Drop Inn with sweater prizes, laughter, and end of year stress relief. We look forward to doing another one next year.

Fall Talk Series – UX Bootcamp to VP: How to Navigate a Career Transition
Laurie Breen went from General Assembly UX Design bootcamp to Vice President of Human Centered Design at agencyQ less than 3 years. She shared the lessons she learned along the way about maximizing opportunities, framing past work experiences, recovering from missteps, and setting yourself apart. We also celebrated by introducing Rachel Max as our newest Chapter Co-Lead!
